The Holtville Vikings suffered their biggest loss since December 22, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 59-38 walloping at the hands of Brawley. Holtville has not had much luck with Brawley recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Brawley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Domanic Vallejo led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six steals. Vallejo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Retutal, who scored 13 points.
Holtville now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Brawley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Holtville will head out on the road to square off against Southwest EC at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest EC has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18. As for Brawley, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Calipatria at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
