Manual is 4-0 against Fort Lupton since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Manual Thunderbolts will head out on the road to square off against the Fort Lupton Bluedevils at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Manual focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
Manual has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They strolled past Denver West with points to spare, taking the game 40-24.
It was another big night for Jaci Collins-Falcon, who scored 27 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayjah Fox, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.
Meanwhile, Fort Lupton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Bruce Randolph by a score of 48-38. The win was a breath of fresh air for Fort Lupton as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Fort Lupton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zaylee Chavez, who scored 12 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Marely Gomez, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Manual's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for Fort Lupton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy game: Manual have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 13.5 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Fort Lupton, though, as they've been averaging only 34.2 rebounds per game. Given Manual's sizeable advantage in that area, Fort Lupton will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Manual against Fort Lupton in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 55-18 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manual since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
