Basketball Recap: Parke Heritage Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Zionsville, Parke Heritage was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They snuck past the Linton-Stockton Miners with a 50-46 victory. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Miners are ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Emma Simpson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. That's the most boards she has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addilee Dawn Jenkins, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Parke Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which somehow still isn't as good as their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Linton-Stockton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

When Parke Heritage and Linton-Stockton next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Parke Heritage will take on Fountain Central and their eight-game winning streak at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Linton-Stockton will try to stop Sullivan's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
