Daviess County has gone 9-1 against Owensboro Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Aces at 5:30  p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Daviess County has three straight  wins, Owensboro Catholic has five straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
It was a proper cat-fight when Daviess County challenged Jasper on Saturday. The Panthers were the clear victors by  a  10-1 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Panthers have won nine matchups by more than eight  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Annie Newman was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, three  runs,  and four  RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Molly Hancock, who  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Daviess County  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 11  hits in three consecutive  games.
 Madisonville-North Hopkins hit Owensboro Catholic with a six-run fourth inning  on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Aces lost  9-2 to the Maroons.
 Daviess County's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-3. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Owensboro Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Owensboro Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Daviess County has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .457. It's a different story for Owensboro Catholic, though, as  they've  only  averaged .324. Will they be able to contain Daviess County's hitters?
 Everything went Daviess County's way against Owensboro Catholic in their previous meeting  on Tuesday, as Daviess County made off with  a  15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
