Buckeye is a perfect 10-0 against Valley Forge since October of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bucks will square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Valley Forge took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Buckeye, who comes in off a win.
Buckeye took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Westlake. The win was some much needed relief for the Bucks as it spelled an end to their six-match losing streak.
The final score came out to 25-7, 25-17, 18-25, 25-13.
Among those leading the charge was Claire Miller, who had ten digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last eight contests. Ava Wolf also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Buckeye was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They served one more ace than Westlake's also-impressive total of ten.
Meanwhile, Valley Forge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Normandy, falling 3-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 5, 2023, but that streak is no more.
The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-15, 25-12.
Valley Forge's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Buckeye, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
Everything went Buckeye's way against Valley Forge when the teams last played back in September, as Buckeye made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bucks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
