It was a good run, but The Triton Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 32-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Overhills. Triton lost against Overhills in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 35-14 score last time.
Overhills got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joel Lalin out in front who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. Isaiah Townsend did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Triton's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Overhills, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Triton will be playing in front of their home fans against Harnett Central at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Overhills, they will head out on the road to face off against Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Pine Forest is ranked 210th, while Overhills is ranked 195th).
