Baseball Recap: Wakulla Christian School Has No Trouble Against Munroe

Wakulla Christian School won the last time they faced Munroe and things went their way on Thursday too. The Saints were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over the Bobcats. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jay Brown made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over 4.2 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

In other batting news, Trevor Andrews was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Wakulla Christian School: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Lewis, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

Wakulla Christian School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Munroe only posted an OBP of .360.

The victory made it two in a row for Wakulla Christian School and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Munroe, they dropped their record down to 4-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Wakulla Christian School didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-1 defeat against Altha on the 4th. As for Munroe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-1 loss against Franklin County on the 4th.
