Basketball Recap: NYOS Charter Comes Up Short

NYOS Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 54-32 to the Meridian Lions. One positive for the Jaguars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, NYOS Charter saw an underclassman step up: freshman Hossam Abuelgasim posted 11 points. Wagas Mansoor was another key player, putting up seven points.

NYOS Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NYOS Charter will face off against IDEA Rundberg at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Meridian, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Meridian Lions face off against the Harmony Science Academy Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
