The Lake Placid Dragons will challenge the Avon Park Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lake Placid is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Discovery a 23-0 shutout. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Dragons as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Noah Molina was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Ritacco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makenna Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Lake Placid always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .812. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Avon Park made easy work of Lake Gibson on Wednesday and carried off a 14-0 win.
Like Lake Placid, Avon Park also got a great game from a two-way player: Paisley Macias. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Macias was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Jalayna Cuencas was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Alyssa Henderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Lake Placid's record is now 5-11. As for Avon Park, their record now sits at 18-1.
