The Weeping Water Indians had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Brownell Talbot 45-27 on Friday. Winning is a bit easier when you make six more threes than your opponent, as Weeping Water did.
Riggs Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with two steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Tucker Bickford was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Despite the defeat, Brownell Talbot had strong showings from Simon Lim, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and John Schinzel, who scored three points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
The win got Weeping Water back to even at 7-7. As for Brownell Talbot, they bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weeping Water will take on Sterling at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brownell Talbot, they will be playing at home against Cedar Bluffs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Cedar Bluffs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 two weeks ago.
