Towanda proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Wellsboro Hornets 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Black Knights have posted since September 9th.
Towanda was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (108-104), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 26-24, 25-19, 13-25, 16-14.

Leading Towanda to victory were Karis Flynn and Lariah Long. Flynn had 20 digs, two blocks, and two aces, while Long had 19 digs, ten kills, and three aces. What's more, Flynn posted two kills, the most she's had since back in September. Brooklyn Evans was another key player, getting 14 kills and nine digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Towanda was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They served one more ace than Wellsboro's also-impressive total of 11.
Wellsboro's loss came despite strong showings from Maddy Cruttenden and Taylor Main. Cruttenden had 43 digs and three aces, while Main had 15 digs and two aces. Cruttenden is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Towanda is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Wellsboro, their defeat ended a six-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4.
Towanda wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Montoursville on the 24th. As for Wellsboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Wyalusing Valley on the 25th.
