Scarborough is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Gorham is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Red Storm will host the Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Gorham's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: Scarborough hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Red Storm never let Portland get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Friday. The Red Storm haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Scarborough got a great performance from Cam Dean as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Matthew Fallona and Kayson Cyr did most of the damage at the plate: Fallona went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Cyr got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Cyr a new career-high. Kam Duggan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Gorham and Cheverus had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rams blew past the Stags 10-2 on Friday. The game was the first time the Rams have beaten the Stags on their field since June 12, 2018.
Wyatt Nadeau was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
Gorham's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Scarborough, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Scarborough skirted past Gorham 3-1 in their previous matchup back in June of 2024. Will the Red Storm repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
