Wabasha-Kellogg is 1-6 against Fillmore Central since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Fillmore Central Falcons at 7:15 p.m. Wabasha-Kellogg is hoping to put an end to a 19-game streak of away losses.
Wabasha-Kellogg suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They were beaten by Cotter 75-30. Wabasha-Kellogg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-17.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ileana DeAngel, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 50% of Wabasha-Kellogg's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brielle Adams was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Fillmore Central came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 44-34 victory over Lanesboro.
Wabasha-Kellogg's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Fillmore Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Wabasha-Kellogg was taken down by Fillmore Central 59-21 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wabasha-Kellogg was down 38-3.
