Even though the Hume-Fogg Blue Knights scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, the White House Blue Devils still came out on top. White House slipped by Hume-Fogg 63-62. This was payback for White House, who suffered a 56-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.
White House's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Worrell, who scored 24 points along with five assists. The matchup was Worrell's third in a row with at least ten points. Bryce Hill was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Despite the loss, Hume-Fogg still got an impressive performance from Michael Nwoye, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. The game was Nwoye's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonzo Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
White House has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Hume-Fogg, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 8-4.
White House and Harpeth will round out the year against one another at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at. Harpeth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 328th, while White House is ranked 147th). Hume-Fogg is on the road again on Friday and play against Goodpasture Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th.
