The Vasquez Mustangs will face off against the Hesperia Christian Patriots at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Vasquez lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Golden Valley, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. Vasquez blew past Golden Valley 12-3 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Madisyn Wharton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Wharton was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Vasquez let Mariah Pulido and Kriztina Finley run wild. Pulido went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Finley scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Finley a new career-high in RBI (three). Olivia Mayes was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Vasquez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Valley only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Hesperia Christian got the win against Desert Christian on Tuesday by a conclusive 24-12.
Like Vasquez, Hesperia Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Charli Lewis. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Lewis was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Hesperia Christian got a massive performance out of Riley Cooper, who scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Eden Skinner, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
Hesperia Christian's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.2 runs. As for Vasquez, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
