The Florence Christian Eagles suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 42-12 loss at the hands of Christian Academy. Florence Christian has not had much luck with Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Payton Rumley was her usual excellent self, scoring eight points along with 20 rebounds and five assists for Christian Academy. Rumley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Belle Jackson, who scored 12 points.
Florence Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florence Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wilson Hall at 6:15 p.m. on January 16th. As for Christian Academy, they will square off against Williamsburg Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Williamsburg Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
