Morehead was the 7-5 winner over McMichael when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phoenix on Friday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jacob Sands was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Sands wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zachary Grogan, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Ben Wade also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Morehead now has a losing record of 7-8. As for McMichael, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Morehead wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-1 loss against West Stokes on the 9th. As for McMichael, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-8 defeat against Rockingham County on the 9th.
