The Immokalee Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They lost to Golden Gate on the road by a decisive 35-16 margin. If Immokalee hoped to take revenge for the 48-22 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Chrisna Charlot was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Aniah Buchanan was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Immokalee's loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.1 points per game. As for Golden Gate, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Immokalee will take on Oasis at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Golden Gate, they will head out on the road to take on Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dunbar comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
