After a string of six wins, The Gouverneur Wildcats''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 23-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of Beekmantown.
Nathan Parliament was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns.
Gouverneur's loss dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Beekmantown, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gouverneur will take on St. Lawrence Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. Lawrence Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Beekmantown, they will be playing at home against Plattsburgh at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Plattsburgh comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
