The Lockland Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight defeat. They fell just short of North College Hill by a score of 36-33. Lockland was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylah Smith, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Smith hasn't dropped below two blocks for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Liselle Bradford, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Lockland dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.8 points per game. As for North College Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
Lockland will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. As for North College Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Shroder Paideia Academy has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
