The Simpson Academy Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lamar Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Simpson Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Lamar will be coming in after a defeat.
Simpson Academy posted their biggest victory since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-21 win over Wayne Academy at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-8.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 65 points the game before, Lamar were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were dealt a 61-24 loss at the hands of Leake Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lamar has scored all season.
Simpson Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Lamar, they bumped their record down to 9-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Simpson Academy barely slipped by Lamar in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 52-51. Will Simpson Academy repeat their success, or does Lamar have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
