The West Point Pointers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 27-22 W over Northampton on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for West Point.
West Point got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gage Davis out in front who threw for 84 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jack Lewis was another key contributor, gaining 57 total yards and two touchdowns.
West Point has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Northampton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.
West Point will head out on the road to face off against Northumberland on Saturday. Northumberland is on a six-game streak of home wins, West Point a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Northampton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
