It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but North Valleys ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They slipped by the Lowry Buckaroos 58-57. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers who have now won six matches in a row.

North Valleys' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kadyn Shackelford, who posted 22 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. With that strong performance, Shackelford is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Joshua Collins was another key player, going 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points.

North Valleys was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lowry only racked up three assists.

Lowry's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Jimenez a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Casalez, who put up 16 points and five rebounds.

North Valleys pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Lowry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

North Valleys will venture away from home to challenge Excel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in North Valleys' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests. As for Lowry, they will welcome Battle Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Battle Mountain is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.7 points per game this season.
