The Emerson Vo-Tech Eagles will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Riverside Frontiers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses dating back to last season for Emerson Vo-Tech and three for Riverside.
Last Thursday, Emerson Vo-Tech ended up a good deal behind East and lost 72-53.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Riverside, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-40 loss to Kenmore West on Monday. While losing is never fun, Riverside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 714th, while Kenmore West is ranked 298th).
Despite their defeat, Riverside saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Javon Elliot, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Landon Jaeckle, who scored nine points.
Emerson Vo-Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Emerson Vo-Tech strolled past Riverside in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 62-48. Does Emerson Vo-Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Riverside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
