The Havelock Rams will head out to challenge the Pamlico County Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Havelock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Havelock earned an 8-3 win over West Craven. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Andrew Williams and Austin Livingston did most of the damage at the plate: Williams went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Livingston went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Livingston has posted since back in March of 2025. Brayden Leverett also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Pamlico County got the win against Pungo Christian Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 12-1. That looming 12-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hurricanes yet this season.
Ross McLamb and Peyton Sevenski made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, McLamb tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sevenski pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. McLamb has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. At bat, McLamb got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Sevenski went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI.
In other batting news, Logan Egan was excellent, earning one RBI, three runs, and two stolen bases. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Hunter Doughty, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base.
Pamlico County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Havelock's record now sits at 3-1. As for Pamlico County, their record is now an identical 3-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Havelock has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Pamlico County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Havelock might still be hurting after the 16-5 defeat they got from Pamlico County in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
