Monacan is 0-3 against Hanover since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Chiefs will head out to face off against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Monacan will be strutting in after a victory while Hanover will be coming in after a defeat.
Monacan took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against L.C. Bird as they made off with a 16-5 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Chiefs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on Caryline Hugenberg, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Morgan Wilchek was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
Monacan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hanover came up short against King George on Friday, falling 11-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Hawks, who until this contest were averaging 3.67 runs allowed.
Lucy Fleisher was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those doubles were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Towner, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Monacan, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Monacan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Hanover struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Monacan might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Hanover in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Can the Chiefs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
