Gallup is 0-6 against Bloomfield since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Gallup Bengals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bloomfield Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Gallup will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Bloomfield is ranked ninth).
Gallup fell victim to Kirtland Central's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 54-0 to the Broncos, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Gallup has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Aztec 42-0 on the road. Fans of Bloomfield have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Gallup's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Bloomfield, their win was their 15th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0.
Gallup was taken down by Bloomfield 49-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Gallup have more luck at home instead of on the road?
