Cartersville lost to Hiram on the road by a decisive 64-49 margin. Cartersville has struggled against Hiram recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Hurricanes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nas Bennett, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Bennett has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ced McClinic, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Cartersville's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-13. As for Hiram, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.
Cartersville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-49 win vs. Woodland on the 12th. Hiram will square off against Calhoun at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Calhoun is coming into the contest with seven straight victories on the road, so Hiram is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
