East Valley and Othello are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Huskies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in East Valley's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last ten games.
16 must be East Valley's lucky number: they beat Prosser with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Red Devils beat the Mustangs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Presley Weatherley and Elise Heater made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Weatherley struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Heater pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. At the plate, Weatherley went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Heater went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Leila Cook was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Brynlee Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
East Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .556 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, in Wednesday's Canine Competition, Othello prevailed. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Grandview on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.
Kenzie Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alexa Prochet was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Alizay Pruneda also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
East Valley's record now sits at 12-3. As for Othello, their record is now 6-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. East Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Othello struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
East Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Othello in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 9-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
