KIPP University Prep pushed the score to 42-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Varsity Opponent cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Sergio Murillo, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of KIPP University Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Raymond Ruiz, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
KIPP University Prep pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Varsity Opponent, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 296-1133-2.
KIPP University Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Harmony Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to challenge Berean Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
