The Flower Mound Jaguars fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 35-28 win over Plano on Friday. Given Flower Mound's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 171st, while Plano is ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Plano lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jack Thomason. Despite the final result, he threw for 256 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Flower Mound's win bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Plano, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flower Mound will square off against Coppell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coppell will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Plano, they will head out on the road to face off against Marcus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
