The Forge Christian Fury have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Addenbrooke Classical Academy 47-26. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Forge Christian.
Forge Christian found their leader in underclassman Finley Queen, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. Queen also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Gabriella Geypens was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 14 rebounds and six assists.
Despite the loss, Addenbrooke Classical Academy saw an underclassman step up: Lucia Rodriguez dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Forge Christian's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Addenbrooke Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forge Christian will take on Colorado Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Addenbrooke Classical Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rocky Mountain Prep SMART comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
