Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only First Baptist Academy walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Orangewood Christian Rams 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their 23rd in a row.

First Baptist Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 17-25, 25-13, 25-22, 15-13.

Peyton Garrick was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 33 digs and four assists. Those 33 digs gave her a new career-high.

Orangewood Christian's loss on Monday came despite strong showings from Olivia Sosa and Mya Crowell. Sosa had 22 digs and nine assists, while Crowell had 13 assists and 12 digs. With that strong performance, Sosa is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

First Baptist Academy's win bumped their record up to 31-1. As for Orangewood Christian, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 26-5.

First Baptist Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Tampa Prep on the 5th. Orangewood Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
