Sidney had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. They will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Billings Central Catholic at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Sidney, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Sidney had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 7-31 punch to the gut against Belgrade. Sidney were down by 0-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Billings Central Catholic faced Custer County in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Billings Central Catholic were fully in charge last week, breezing past Custer County 38-0. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-0.
Billings Central Catholic's win lifted them to 1-0 while Sidney's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Billings Central Catholic can add another positive mark to their record or if Sidney can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Billings Central Catholic's step.
