The South River Seahawks will venture away from home to take on the Broadneck Bruins at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
South River had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Glen Burnie on Wednesday. The Seahawks blew past the Gophers 17-1. The win continues a trend for the Seahawks in their matchups with the Gophers: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Hanna Grambo, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Jaylynn Elliott was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, Broadneck entered their tilt with Annapolis on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 17-1 victory.
Keira Plumley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Malayna Owens was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Addie Cornelius, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Broadneck was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .679. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Broadneck pushed their record up to 8-2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for South River, their record is now 7-4.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South River has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. However, it's not like Broadneck struggles in that department as they've averaged .499. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South River suffered a grim 21-6 defeat to Broadneck when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Seahawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
