Basketball Recap: Jefferson Area Skates Past Mckinley with Ease

Jefferson Area won the last time they faced McKinley and things went their way on Friday too. The Jefferson Area Falcons simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the McKinley Red Dragons 85-57. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

McKinley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Izaiah Redd, who went 6-for-15 to rack up 17 points and three steals. Those three steals gave Redd a new career-high. True Carey-Hardin was another key player, going 6-for-13 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds.

Jefferson Area has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points over those games. McKinley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Jefferson Area will square off against Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bay's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. McKinley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
