The Edgewood Cougars were the 46-33 winner over the Ross Rams when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Edgewood took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ross on Saturday. Edgewood has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Edgewood lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rylie Homan. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with 7 assists and 4 steals. Homan scored a full 46.9% of Edgewood's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamdyn Buck, who scored 13 points.
Lanie Lipps went supernova for Ross, scoring 29 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Lipps has scored at least 25% of Ross' points. Another player making a difference was Carmen Bosse, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds.
Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ross, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Edgewood will head out on the road to face off against Madison at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ross, they will face off against Napoleon at TBD on Tuesday. Hopefully Napoleon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
