After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blazer, Russell was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Paintsville Tigers with a sharp 11-1 win. With that victory, the Red Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Karson Honaker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Honaker was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Gabby Oborne was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Ava Howard was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
