After flying high against the Alcovy Tigers on Thursday, the Woodward Academy War Eagles came back down to earth. Woodward Academy's rough 81-60 loss to Galloway on Saturday might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Woodward Academy had strong showings from Kameron Herring, who scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, and Delaney Cooper, who scored 11 points along with 5 steals. The contest was Herring's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Kami Whitner was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Woodward Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Galloway, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Woodward Academy will head out on the road to face off against Mundy's Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Galloway, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Galloway is ranked 61st).
