After a string of three wins, the Roosevelt Teddies's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were beaten by Minneapolis South 82-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Roosevelt has scored all season.
Roosevelt lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Calvin Peterson, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Josiah Alexander was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds.
Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Minneapolis South, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will take on Como Park at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Minneapolis South, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Robbinsdale Cooper at 3:00 p.m. Robbinsdale Cooper knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Minneapolis South likes a good challenge.
