The Monroe Central Golden Bears scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 63-62 photo finish over Hagerstown. The victory was just what Monroe Central needed coming off of a 57-32 loss in their prior match.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Schmitz, who scored 14 points along with six assists and four steals. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. Kaagen Kendall was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Monroe Central's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Hagerstown, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Monroe Central will head out on the road to face off against South Adams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Adams is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. Hagerstown will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
