Basketball Recap: Bloomington's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Bloomington can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against the Manual Rams by a score of 46-36. The Purple Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

Bloomington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josie Skeate out in front who went 7 for 16 en route to 17 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Skeate a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Embry, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and eight blocks.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Breyasia Grayson, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Grayson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Ma'Kya Maxwell was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and four steals.

Bloomington's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-9. As for Manual, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.

Bloomington will be playing in front of their home fans against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloomington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Manual, they will head out on the road to square off against Rock Island at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
