Hillsboro and Batavia are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Indians will welcome the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Hillsboro turned things around against McClain on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Tigers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Luke Holland made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Nate Lane was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Pence, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Batavia entered their tilt with Western Brown on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Broncos a 1-0 shutout.
Not much got past Derek Richardson, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Western Brown off the board. Richardson has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Batavia secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Brayden Schmittou, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Batavia pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hillsboro, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
