Mazyn Weaver was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double with 29 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. The game was his 13th in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Romelle Harris, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.
Meanwhile, after only 22 points in their last contest, Baker made sure to put some points up on the board against Owens Valley on Thursday. The Braves blew past the Cubs, posting a 67-33 win.
Immanuel Christian better focus on containing Anthony Ortiz and Alex Gomez as the pair were huge in Baker's win. Ortiz shot 73% from the field en route to 21 points, while Gomez went 6-for-7 to rack up 17 points. That's the most points Ortiz has posted since back in December of 2025. Alex Amador was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.
Immanuel Christian's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Baker, their win bumped their record up to 7-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Immanuel Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Baker struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Immanuel Christian against Baker in their previous meeting last Thursday, as the team secured a 64-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
