On Tuesday, the Ironwood Eagles faced the Casteel Colts in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Ironwood walked away with a 62-54 win over Casteel. The win was nothing new for Ironwood as they're now sitting on four straight.
Noah Gifft continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 0 assists. The contest was his 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jadden Jones, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Ironwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Casteel, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ironwood will take on Apollo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Apollo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Ironwood is ranked 19th). As for Casteel, they will head out on the road to face off against Queen Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Queen Creek is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
