The Fisher Bunnies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Urbana University 65-35 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Fisher as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.
Fisher's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan Estes, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Estes scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Paige Hott, who scored 11 points.
Fisher's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-17. As for Urbana University, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fisher will take on Tremont at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Tremont presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fisher in Illinois (Tremont is ranked 212th, while Fisher is ranked 465th). Urbana University will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Blue Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th.
