On Friday, Faith Christian lost to School of the Woods on the road by a decisive 61-47 margin.
Despite the loss, Faith Christian still got an impressive performance from Dylan Martinez, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. That was a full 48.9% of Faith Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Avila, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead School of the Woods to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Gwinn, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Adam Zagaar, who scored nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for School of the Woods, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.
Faith Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on True North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. School of the Woods won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Humble Christian at 6:15 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Humble Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday.
