The University Trailblazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 50-42 to Lapel. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Lapel is ranked 49th).
Despite the defeat, University saw an underclassman step up: Charlotte Conyers scored 15 points along with four steals. Conyers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anyah Jordan-Turley, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
University now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Lapel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
University will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lapel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wapahani at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
