Fossil Ridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Fairview Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fossil Ridge scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 75-40 victory over Prairie View at home. The score was close at the half, but Fossil Ridge pulled away in the second half with 48 points.
Fossil Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Nutting led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Walker Shields, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Mountain Range scored an imposing 65 points on Tuesday, Fairview still came out on top. Fairview took their contest against Mountain Range 77-65.
Spencer Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Bekkem Kritza was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Fossil Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Fairview, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Nutting and Brown. Nutting has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 14.5 points, 1.7 steals, and 7.9 rebounds. For his part, Brown has averaged 20.4 points and 1.3 steals.
Everything came up roses for Fossil Ridge against Fairview in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 89-56 victory. With Fossil Ridge ahead 49-24 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
