Solorio is 1-9 against Kenwood since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Sun Warriors will welcome the Broncos at 4:30 p.m.
Solorio managed to slip by Brooks the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Sun Warriors came up short against the Eagles on Friday, falling 14-4.
Juan Barrientos put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Barrientos was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Barrientos wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Keiber Hernandez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Hernandez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Josiah Saucedo was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Kenwood entered their tilt with Morgan Park on Sunday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Mustangs. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Lance Moon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Damaurion Butler, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Kenwood pushed their record up to 11-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Solorio, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Everything went Solorio's way against Kenwood when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Solorio made off with a 12-3 victory. Do the Sun Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
